4-Star Tight End Chooses BYU Football Over Georgia, Oregon

The BYU football team secured a major victory on the recruiting front on Monday, as they landed a commitment from four-star tight end Brock Harris. The Cougars faced fierce competition, overcoming Georgia, Oregon, and Michigan to land the highly sought-after recruit. With a successful season behind them, BYU’s ability to attract top-tier recruits could position them as a regular contender.

“BREAKING: Four-Star TE Brock Harris has committed to BYU, he tells me for @on3recruits,” said Hayes Fawcett in a post. “The 6’6 240 TE from Saint George, UT picked the Cougars over Michigan, Oregon, and UGA. He’s the third-highest ranked recruit to commit to BYU in the modern ranking era.”

Brock Harris, a four-star prospect according to 247Sports, ranks as the #56 player in the 2026 class, the #5 tight end, and the top recruit from Utah. He currently attends Pine View High School in St. George, Utah.

“Harris is among the nation’s top tight end prospects and one of the most versatile as well,” his scouting report reads. “He’s a true every-down tight end capable of playing in various situations. While he excels as a pass catcher, he’s also a strong in-line blocker who can line up attached to the line of scrimmage. He can play in the slot, out wide, and even as an H-back. He’s an advanced route runner with excellent hands and attacks the football.”

Harris is expected to make an immediate impact on BYU’s offense, and he likely won’t spend much time on the bench.

“He catches well through contact and uses his frame to gain separation from defenders,” the report continues. “He’s a tough player who plays physically and can break tackles after the catch. Although he’s not an elite athlete in terms of burst and speed downfield, continued improvement in this area could elevate his game. With a college-ready body, he is one of the most ‘ready to play now’ tight end prospects in the 2026 class.”

This commitment is a huge boost for BYU football, helping to maintain momentum on the recruiting trail. The future looks bright for head coach Kalani Sitake and the program.
