Top NBA Prospect Considering NIL Deal for Possible Return to BYU

Projected Top NBA Pick Reportedly Considering NIL Offer to Return to BYU

Kevin Young and the BYU Cougars have an exciting future ahead.

While their historic Sweet 16 run was a major accomplishment, the arrival of five-star recruit AJ Dybantsa, along with the return of talents like Keba Keita and Richie Saunders, raises the expectations for next year. One key player in this equation is Egor Demin. The Cougars’ freshman guard is reportedly evaluating his options for the upcoming season, with a “lucrative” NIL offer on the table.

Demin originally came to BYU with the plan to play for one season before entering the NBA Draft. However, Dybantsa’s arrival changes the dynamics. Together, the foursome could form one of the most dangerous lineups in college basketball, potentially overshadowing other elite programs. But for Demin, that would mean delaying his NBA aspirations for another year and fully committing to college basketball.

The projected lottery pick in the 2025 NBA Draft could opt to return to BYU for another season. Another year under Young’s professional coaching style could further develop Demin’s skills and enhance his chances of becoming a top-five pick. He averaged 10.6 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game, shooting 41.2% from the field and 27.3% from three-point range.

If Demin decides to return to BYU for what would likely be his final season, it would set the stage for the Cougars to become a formidable contender in the Big 12 with hopes of a national championship run.
