Jaland Lowe’s Signature Pitt Moment: A Game-Winning Three at Duke

Kentucky is landing a player who thrives under the brightest lights in college basketball.

Winning at Cameron Indoor Stadium is no easy task.

Draining a shot that quiets the Cameron Crazies? That’s a highlight for any college athlete.

It’s a feat former Pitt Panther Jaland Lowe accomplished back in January 2024.

Lowe, a transfer point guard from Pitt, has two years of eligibility left. In 2024-25, he averaged 16.8 points, 5.5 assists, and 4.2 rebounds. He scored 20+ points in 10 games and had 10+ assists four times last season.

In that 2024 matchup at Duke, Lowe posted 17 points and six assists. He knocked down two second-half threes, including a dagger late.

That performance was part of a freshman campaign where he scored double figures 17 times—15 of those coming in his final 17 games. That clutch shot at Duke seemed to spark a strong finish and set the tone for an even better sophomore season.

Lowe recorded over 100 assists in each of his seasons at Pitt. If he can serve as an efficient facilitator for the Wildcats, it frees up Otega Oweh to focus on putting points on the board. Plus, Lowe’s fearless approach in pressure moments is a huge asset in tough environments.

Kentucky’s backcourt is coming together—and it’s looking like a serious threat for the 2025-26 season.
