Kentucky set to host Lamar Wilkerson for a weekend visit.

The Kentucky Wildcats are aiming to finalize their 2025-26 roster as head coach Mark Pope and his team narrow their focus on key players still available in the transfer portal.

A recent update indicates their top remaining prospect is set to visit Lexington this weekend.

As reported by Tyler Thompson of KSR, Sam Houston State transfer Lamar Wilkerson will be making a campus visit in the coming days. He’s also scheduled to tour Indiana, Auburn, and Ole Miss.

Standing 6-foot-5 and weighing 240 pounds, Wilkerson is a shooting guard from Ashdown, Arkansas. He averaged 20.5 points per game last season with an impressive 48% field goal percentage and 44.5% from beyond the arc. He also contributed four rebounds and two assists per contest.

Although he plans four visits, the recruiting race seems to be boiling down to Kentucky and Indiana. After Indiana appeared to take the lead, their new coaching staff will now have to fend off a strong push from Pope’s staff.

With the roster nearly complete, Wilkerson’s arrival could plug a key hole for the Wildcats. His scoring versatility would elevate this team to potential top-three status on paper.

It’s now up to Coach Pope and the staff to put the finishing touch on this roster.
