The Kentucky Wildcats put together a solid all-around 2024-25 college basketball season under head coach Mark Pope. While they didn’t end up making a deep NCAA Tournament run, the season was still a quality one.
Koby Brea put together a big year individually for Kentucky. He was one of the key leaders for the Wildcats all year long.
Kentucky finished the 2024-25 campaign with a 24-12 record. They were able to knock off No. 14 seeded Troy by a final score of 76-57 in the first round of the tournament and backed that up with an 84-75 win over the No. 6 seed Illinois in round two. Sadly, they lost to No. 2 seed Tennessee to end their season in the Sweet Sixteen.
Following the season, Brea has made a major announcement about his future with the Wildcats.
In a post on X, Brea sent a one-word message to announce that he would be entering the 2025 NBA Draft and would be leaving Kentucky.
“Blessed,” his post read with the praying hands emoji.
During the 2024-25 season, Brea ended up playing in 36 games and he started in 16 of those appearances. He averaged 11.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game, while shooting 47 percent from the floor and 43.5 percent from the three-point line.
While he will be missed by the Wildcats, fans will continue rooting for him hard at the next level.
There will be plenty of teams interested in bringing him in for his three-point shooting ability. Perimeter shooting is a premium in the NBA and Brea has a chance to become an elite threat from beyond the arc.
