After the sudden death of former NFL cornerback Vontae Davis, his brother Vernon Davis called it a mystery. Over a year later, that mystery still remains.

On Friday, the Broward County Medical Examiner shared its autopsy findings, stating Davis’ cause of death as “undetermined,” according to Hal Habib of The Palm Beach Post.

Davis was discovered unresponsive at his grandmother’s house in South Florida on April 1, 2024. Vernon Davis said Vontae collapsed after stepping out of the sauna.

BAuthorities said there were no signs of foul play involved.

Vontae Davis was 35 at the time.

The Dolphins selected him in the first round in 2009. He retired mid-game in his 10th season with the Bills and made two Pro Bowls during six seasons with the Colts.
