Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl is ready to see his boys go all-out at San Siro against Inter Milan in the Champions League.
Bayern Munich is capable of winning away games. We’ve shown that in the past, but also this season. We’re going to Milan to win. We’re confident and want to progress. The team is focused on a very important game. Everyone knows it’s very complicated; we lost the first leg 2-1 at home. Nevertheless, the team is optimistic that they can win away as well. It wouldn’t necessarily be a miracle, but we have to deliver for that,” Eberl said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “In the Champions League quarterfinals, it’s always about character and mentality. It’s about advancing to the next round. The way we do it doesn’t have to be pretty. We have to overturn deficit (one Wednesday), so we need character, but the team has that. That’s why we have a chance. Of course, footballing quality also plays a role, because if you can keep the ball under pressure, you have a better chance of scoring a goal.”
One thing Eberl would like to see improved is his team’s efficiency.
“The positive thing is that we’re creating chances. But that also means we have to stay focused until the last second and not think: ‘It’s already in.’ If we have that focus, the goals will go in again,” Eberl said.
Bayern Munich fans are sure hoping that Eberl is correct…
