Lions Fans Respond to Terrion Arnold’s Sincere Tribute to Former Teammate Who Passed Away
The Detroit Lions’ defense could rise to elite status in the NFL this season, thanks to key players like DJ Reader, Aidan Hutchinson, and others returning to full health.
The team is also counting on breakout years from young talents such as Terrion Arnold, Brian Branch, and more to stay on top of the NFC North in the 2025-2026 campaign.
On Tuesday, second-year standout Terrion Arnold opened up about his late former teammate Khyree Jackson and explained the emotional reason behind changing his jersey number, drawing reactions from Lions fans online.
“It’s just that extra push when you look down and think, ‘man, I’ve got this 6 on and my brother’s living through me,’” Arnold said via the Detroit Lions’ Facebook page.
“We love you in every number you wear!” one supporter wrote.
“Such a beautiful way to honor your friend,” added another fan with a heart emoji.
“A heartfelt tribute,” another person shared in the comments.
Jackson, who played with Arnold at the University of Alabama, tragically passed away in a car crash on July 6, 2024.
The crash involved 23-year-old Cory Clingman, who now faces 13 charges, including DUI and criminally negligent vehicular manslaughter.
