Fans Confident Lions Will Prioritize Line Help Early in NFL Draft

With the 2025 NFL Draft just days away, the spotlight is on what each team plans to do when they’re on the clock. Keeping that in mind, earlier this week, we ran a new SB Nation Reacts poll asking Detroit Lions fans a simple question:

To give fans informed choices, we turned to our friends at FanDuel Sportsbook for insight into possible Lions draft moves, and they shared the latest odds from their platform:

Now that voting has wrapped up and the numbers are in, the results closely mirrored the odds offered.

As many predicted, most Lions fans have been vocal about needing defensive line reinforcements, so it wasn’t shocking that nearly half picked that option. Offensive line help was also in demand — and it was a bit surprising to see that option approach 40%.

To better understand the mindset of Lions fans and what influenced their opinions, here are some reader comments from the original post, lightly edited for grammar and flow:

I think Brad goes OL, but it’s still a guess given his unpredictability in past drafts. He didn’t upgrade the D-line as much as fans expected and seems okay rolling with Davenport and Paschal. That’s why I lean OL — maybe someone who can start right away.”

I have the Honolulu Blues: “People act surprised by Brad’s picks, but they really shouldn’t. If you look back, he usually hints at his plan early. This year, he said the O-line is our backbone and wants to keep it elite. He also questioned if Mahogany is ready and we lost Zeitler. If Zabel or Booker is there, I bet they’re the pick.”

Ponce DeLion: “Cool to see odds laid out like that, and -190 for DL/Edge is pretty convincing. I agree with it, though maybe not as confidently. Brad Holmes tends to see things a bit differently than the rest of us.

I’m all in on linebacker at +3800. Let’s welcome Jihaad Campbell to the D.”

Quinny the pooh: “If they trade up, it’ll be for an EDGE. If they stay where they are, it’s an OL pick.”
