The first Razorback selected in the 2025 NFL Draft is Isaac TeSlaa. With the 70th overall pick in the third round, the Detroit Lions have added the former Division II transfer to their roster.
Growing up in Hudsonville, Mich., TeSlaa was a devoted Lions fan, and now he gets to live out his childhood dream. Speaking about the chance to join Detroit before the draft, he expressed his amazement.
“It’s definitely crazy,” TeSlaa said. “It’s always been a dream to make it to the league. Of course, the biggest dream was always to play for the Lions, but whatever happens, I’ll be happy wherever I go.”
During his two seasons with the Razorbacks, TeSlaa recorded 62 catches for 907 yards and five touchdowns. He became one of the top wide receiver transfers in 2023, coming from Hillsdale College at the Division II level, bringing along a highlight reel filled with impressive one-handed grabs.
However, Arkansas faced criticism for how they utilized the 6-foot-4 athletic standout while he was in Fayetteville. In 2024 alone, TeSlaa managed just 546 yards and three touchdowns, despite Arkansas boasting one of the top passing attacks in the nation. He went three games without a catch and had only two games with over 100 receiving yards.
Although Andrew Armstrong, the SEC’s leading receiver, was also on the roster, TeSlaa’s NFL Combine showing created both excitement and curiosity. After all the drills, TeSlaa finished with the highest relative athletic score of anyone in the draft. His 9.96 out of 10 ranks 16th among all wide receivers tested from 1987 to 2025.
