Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold had quite a memorable Friday night. First, the former Alabama star stirred up Packers fans—Detroit’s NFC North rival—right on their home field in Green Bay during the NFL Draft. Then came the news that his close friend, former Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe, had been drafted.
The Seattle Seahawks chose Milroe with the 92nd overall pick in the 90th NFL Draft on Friday night. Arnold, who was live on ESPN Radio when the pick was announced, broke into a lively, emotional celebration.
Before Arnold rushed off to call Milroe, the hosts squeezed in one last question: Could he tackle Milroe?
“Tackle him?” Arnold responded. “Man, what? I’ll smack him. What you mean? I always tell him: You cross my end – concussion. I’m not playing around.”
The Lions and Seahawks won’t meet during the 2025 NFL regular season.
Drafted last year by the Lions with the 24th pick, Arnold traveled to Green Bay to announce Detroit’s second-day draft picks.
As he took the stage to announce the 70th overall selection in the 2025 draft, Arnold said: “Packer Nation, what’s good? Two-and-O here, it feels fantastic. One year ago this weekend, I cried – thought I was gonna be a Packer. But the kings of the NFC North rescued me.”
Arnold had the honor of announcing that Detroit selected Arkansas wideout Isaac TeSlaa at No. 70. Arnold had faced TeSlaa when Alabama edged Arkansas 24-21 in an SEC game on Oct. 14, 2023.
Together, Arnold and Milroe created the LANK motto – Let All Naysayers Know – which symbolized Alabama’s 2023 SEC championship team and later became a clothing brand.
“We’re true best friends because we’re brutally honest with each other,” Arnold said about Milroe during an NFL Network “Good Morning Football” appearance on Day 1 of the 2025 draft. “…Crazy story: my first four games, when I kept getting flagged for PIs, he texted me, ‘Bro, tighten up. This ain’t the Terrion I know.’ And I do the same for him.”
Arnold also detailed why any NFL team would be lucky to have Milroe—something the Seahawks confirmed by drafting him.
“Whoever’s getting him,” Arnold said Thursday, “they’re getting more than a dynamic, electric quarterback—they’re getting a leader and a great man. Same guy who, during cold, pouring rain, saw kids waiting outside for autographs, got out of the car, and signed them. Not many do that. Honestly, I’m a nice guy, but I hate the cold.”
