The University of Arkansas experienced a minor setback in its 2026 football recruiting class after three-star athlete Jack Duckworth decided to decommit late Tuesday night, as announced through his personal X (formerly Twitter) account.
Duckworth, who stood out primarily at wide receiver last season, racked up 718 all-purpose yards and scored six touchdowns. On defense, he also recorded an interception during his junior year. His recruitment was led by then-defensive backs coach Deron Wilson and Marcus Woodson, the team’s current co-defensive coordinator.
During his sophomore campaign, Duckworth emerged as a top defensive presence in Texas, tallying 14 pass breakups, one sack, and an interception.
“After a lot of reflection and talks with my family, I’ve made the decision to reopen my recruitment. I hold nothing but respect for the Arkansas coaching staff and the opportunities I was offered. However, I believe it’s best for me to fully explore my options,” Duckworth shared on social media.
The 5-foot-11, 175-pound prospect is also a standout on the track team at Rockwall High School in Texas, having posted a 15.87 time in the 110-meter hurdles and a 44.50 in the 300-meter hurdles, per MileSplit.
Interest in Duckworth has picked up recently, with programs like Stanford, UNLV, Memphis, and Sam Houston State showing attention—possibly influencing his choice to reevaluate his options.
Although he is no longer committed to Arkansas, Duckworth was originally expected to take an official visit to Fayetteville on June 6. It’s unclear whether he still plans to attend. At the time of his decommitment, he was the lowest-ranked prospect in the Razorbacks’ 2026 class, listed as the No. 1,120 overall recruit nationally, the No. 101 cornerback, and the No. 158 player in Texas, according to 247Sports composite rankings.
Despite this development, Arkansas remains active in building out its 2026 class. Several high-profile recruits, including multiple uncommitted four-star players, are set to visit campus in the coming weeks. Notable names include defensive linemen Danny Beale and Anthony Kennedy, linebackers Jakore Smith and Braxton Lindsey, and offensive lineman Bryce Gilmore.
One major target to monitor is wide receiver Chase Campbell from Frenship High School. At 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds, Campbell is among Texas’ most dynamic offensive talents, having produced consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons at the varsity level.
In 2024, Campbell posted 81 receptions for 1,459 yards and 18 receiving touchdowns, while also rushing 38 times for 314 yards and six additional scores. While Arkansas would love to land him, nearby Texas Tech—emerging as a strong recruiting power in West Texas—could pose a major challenge, especially with the appeal of keeping a Razorback legacy close to home.
Campbell is also being recruited by Arizona State, Ole Miss, Baylor, Utah, Arizona, and Kansas State. He was selected to the All-District first team and received All-Region honors after leading Frenship to an area title.
As it stands, Arkansas’ 2026 class is rated 10th in the nation and third in the SEC, per the 247Sports composite team rankings.
