Divine Ugochukwu Makes Move to Michigan State

Tom Izzo made another addition to his backcourt on Sunday with the announcement that Divine Ugochukwu is transferring to Michigan State. The ex-Miami Hurricane arrives with experience from a major conference, which sets him apart from the other two transfers in MSU’s incoming class. He has three years of eligibility left, so he’s more than just a short-term option—though he technically could leave again after next season.

Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 190 pounds, Ugochukwu started 16 games as a freshman at Miami. He posted averages of 5.3 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game. It’s expected that Divine will take on the role of backup point guard behind Jeremy Fears
