Kelly Stafford knows exactly what part of her body her husband, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, appreciates most — her “butt.”
Kelly, 35, revealed this during the Thursday, May 22 episode of her podcast “The Morning After,” when cohost Hank Winchester told her it wasn’t her hairstyle that originally caught Matthew’s eye.
“This is what hooked Matthew, by the way,” she said about her hair, worn in a top knot during the episode. “The messy bun on my head… This was my go-to look in high school and college, and now here I am, trying to look youthful again.”
“That hairstyle had nothing to do with attracting Matthew,” Winchester insisted. “Because when I asked him a long time ago what first got his attention about you, do you know what he said?”
“My butt,” Kelly answered without hesitation, and Winchester confirmed, “Exactly. That booty.”
“I’m very aware of that,” Kelly responded. “That’s why I’m constantly working out now — making sure the booty, and everything else, stays in shape. All I focus on are legs and glutes. That’s it. That’s all I’ve got in me.”
Kelly and Matthew, 37, first met while they were students at the University of Georgia, where Matthew starred as the Bulldogs’ All-American quarterback. The couple tied the knot in 2015 and are parents to four daughters: twins Sawyer and Chandler, 8, Hunter, 6, and Tyler, 4.
She has previously opened up about the struggles in their marriage, sharing how difficult it can be to stop prioritizing yourself.
Kelly also explained how she had to adapt once Matthew entered the NFL, being picked first overall by the Detroit Lions in the 2009 draft.
“I’m not saying he became a different person,” she said. “He’s still the same guy deep down — his personality and how he treats people haven’t changed. But I did have to adjust to a big shift, from fun-loving Matthew to serious, professional Matthew.”
She added, “That really caught me off guard. Suddenly, we couldn’t go dance at the bars or enjoy the things I loved before. That was the transition phase. I had to accept, ‘This is new, and I’ll support you through it.’”
