Lions’ Dan Campbell Joins Growing List of Supporters for Jameson Williams Ahead of 2025 Season
Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell has joined the growing list of team staff praising wide receiver Jameson Williams.
Not long ago, Jameson Williams was the subject of trade speculation for the Lions.
The rumors stemmed from a pre-draft visit with Matthew Golden but were quickly dismissed.
Now, just over a month later, Williams is being heavily praised by the Lions’ coaching staff.
During voluntary team workouts, new offensive coordinator John Morton described Williams as “unbelievable.”
Wide receivers coach Scottie Montgomery highlighted Williams’ football intelligence and said he was very pleased with his performance in those workouts.
Now Dan Campbell has added his voice to the mix, complimenting Williams as the 2025 season nears.
During OTAs, Campbell told the press that “the sky’s the limit” for the receiver entering his fourth year.
“Oh man, he’s got so much room to grow and he’s had a strong spring,” Campbell said. “I don’t want to go overboard this early in OTAs, but his versatility is incredible. He can run routes outside, inside, and his speed is exceptional. He’s built more strength and can stop on a dime now. That makes him a nightmare to cover. The sky’s the limit.”
After a rocky start to his NFL career, Williams made a major leap in 2024, recording his first 1,000-yard season.
With so much praise from Detroit’s coaching staff, it’s clear they believe he’ll continue to ascend in 2025.
On a roster filled with players due for big contract talks, Williams will need to deliver another big year to solidify his role in Detroit.
His coaches seem convinced he can do it—now the fans will have to watch and see if he follows through after his breakout season.
