Shocking news Lions’ $54M All-Pro Reportedly Dissatisfied With Contract Terms

A prominent veteran on the Detroit Lions, who earned All-Pro honors in 2024, is reportedly displeased with his current contract, which still has two years remaining.

The Detroit Lions are currently without a pair of key veterans during organized team activities.

The two absent players are linebacker Alex Anzalone and center Frank Ragnow.

In a recent press conference, head coach Dan Campbell confirmed both players have maintained communication with the team, though he declined to elaborate on their absences.

Ragnow is reportedly unhappy with the deal he signed in 2021, which initially made him the NFL’s highest-paid center. He is set to earn $9.15 million this season.

Ragnow is entering the third season of a four-year, $54 million extension signed in 2021.

When he inked the contract, it was the most lucrative deal for a center in league history. Now, he ranks fourth in annual pay at the position.

His salary is also $4.5 million less per year than Creed Humphrey, the current top-paid center.

Ragnow’s performance since signing has warranted a raise, as he’s earned All-Pro honors in both years of the deal so far.

He’s been a cornerstone of a Detroit offensive line that’s among the league’s best, and at age 29, remains a vital piece.

Though his current deal has two seasons left, it would be unexpected if the Lions didn’t seek to adjust it to satisfy one of their top contributors.
