The Detroit Lions’ offensive line has grown into one of the team’s top assets under head coach Dan Campbell and line coach Hank Fraley, often anchored by the elite performance of four-time Pro Bowl center Frank Ragnow.
Ragnow revealed his retirement Monday at the age of 29—a decision many within the Lions organization saw coming but one that still stunned fans across the country.
After the news broke, former Michigan Wolverines lineman and current Lions starter Graham Glasgow shared a message on X to honor his teammate. By early Monday evening, it had over 30,000 views.
“Congrats to one of my favorite teammates ever and a great friend. Best center I’ve seen play this game.
“Hell of a career,” Glasgow posted Monday.
“It’s your moment now, big bro,” one fan replied to Glasgow’s message.
“You’re on deck, Graham!” said another fan.
A different supporter thanked Ragnow for his contributions to Detroit and wished him well.
” Hey vet! Time to prep the o-line for this season. We’ve got a Super Bowl to chase,” another wrote.
Hailing from Victoria, Minnesota, Ragnow was selected out of Arkansas with the 20th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.
He was the draft’s first center and second interior lineman taken, going on to shine with the Lions despite facing constant injuries.
“These last few months have been really tough as I’ve accepted that my football career is ending and I’m officially retiring from the NFL,” Ragnow shared on Instagram Monday.
“I’ve tried to pretend I feel great, but I don’t—it’s time to put my health and my family’s future first,” he continued.
