GRAND RAPIDS, MI — Fans of the Detroit Lions now have a new way to catch select road games thanks to nonstop flights being introduced by Delta Air Lines at Gerald R. Ford International Airport.
Starting Saturday, June 7, Delta will begin offering roundtrip flights from GRR to five Detroit Lions away matchups, along with one University of Michigan road game. With Lions season tickets sold out for 2025–2026 and single-game options scarce, this initiative makes it easier for fans to follow their team on the road.
Flight pricing was not disclosed at the time of announcement.
“We’re thrilled to bring these travel options to fans as we look forward to another exciting Lions season,” said Tory Richardson, president and CEO of Gerald R. Ford International Airport Authority, in a statement.
“With Ford Field games becoming harder to attend, Delta is stepping up to help West Michigan residents cheer on the Lions at five thrilling road venues. They’ve also added a special option for Wolverines fans to see their team early on in Oklahoma.
“We’re grateful for Delta’s ongoing support of our region and are eager to fly with them to cities across the nation in support of the Lions.”
Flight tickets will be available for purchase starting tomorrow at delta.com. The complete schedule includes:
University of Michigan at Oklahoma, departs Sept. 5, returns Sept. 7
Detroit Lions at Baltimore Ravens, departs Sept. 22, returns Sept. 23
Detroit Lions at Kansas City Chiefs, departs Oct. 11, returns Oct. 13
Detroit Lions at Washington Commanders, departs Nov. 8, returns Nov. 10

“From the first whistle to the last play, Delta is making it more convenient for fans to be part of the action — with new nonstop flights out of Grand Rapids and added capacity for major games,” said Amy Martin, Delta’s vice president of North America network planning, in a press release. “Michigan fans are passionate, and we’ve scheduled these routes to help them get to the games that mean the most.”
Delta also announced plans to grow its network at GRR with new nonstop service to Orlando International Airport (MCO) beginning in December 2025. It currently operates four other nonstop routes from Grand Rapids.
