Detroit Lions

The bond between Jared Goff and Jameson Williams is making waves during Lions OTAs.

Will the Lions maintain their offensive strength without him protecting Jared Goff’s blind side? Will their running game decline as a result? Can Detroit still compete in the league or their division after Ragnow’s exit?

These questions remain unanswered until we see actual game action, and for now, OTAs offer the best glimpse at where teams stand early in the 2025 season. At least the Lions’ social media team is doing their part by sharing practice highlights to ease worries about Ragnow’s retirement.

One clip from this week’s OTAs should definitely excite Detroit fans. Jameson Williams, one of their top receivers who might have been considered for trade talks this offseason, is entering the year with high expectations alongside Amon-Ra St. Brown.

This particular highlight from Lions OTAs, showing a smooth connection between Goff and Williams, suggests the receiver is on track to exceed expectations in 2025.

Williams’ catch here, where he completely shook off Ennis Rakestraw Jr. in coverage, signals positive chemistry between him and Goff and highlights Williams’ playmaking potential. Of course, it’s just practice footage, so caution is warranted. But if Williams stays healthy, he can sustain this level of impact throughout the season — and that’s why this clip is so encouraging.
