The Detroit Lions’ rising popularity was reflected in the NFLPA’s recent list highlighting the 50 players with the highest jersey sales.
We already knew the Lions were the league’s most-watched team throughout the 2024 campaign.
Now, that massive viewership appears to have turned into big-time jersey sales for some of Detroit’s brightest names.
On June 11, the NFLPA published the rankings of the top 50 jersey sellers between March 1, 2024, and February 28, 2025.
In that span, five different Lions players made the list.
Defensive end Aidan Hutchinson was the highest-ranked Detroit player, landing at No. 7 overall. Right behind him was standout receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, who earned the No. 8 spot.
Running back Jahmyr Gibbs was next on the list for Detroit, coming in at No. 20. Quarterback Jared Goff wasn’t far behind, ranking 22nd in jersey sales.
Tight end Sam LaPorta rounded out the Lions’ presence on the list, finishing 47th overall in jersey sales for the year.
That’s a lot of star appeal from Detroit’s top players.
Goff placed fifth in MVP voting last season. Hutchinson is viewed as the frontrunner for 2025 Defensive Player of the Year. Gibbs is a top candidate for Offensive Player of the Year.
St. Brown made his third straight Pro Bowl after another 100+ catch, 1,100+ yard season. LaPorta, in just two years, has become one of the league’s top tight ends.
Detroit was one of the league’s most exciting teams in 2024, putting together one of the most explosive offensive seasons ever.
With that kind of play and talent on the field, it’s no wonder so many fans bought Lions jerseys this past year.
