:Kelly and her husband, Matthew Stafford, have been married since 2015 and are parents to four daughters.
The couple shares four girls together, with Matthew being a star in the NFL.
Kelly mentioned that her daughters notice a change in her mood when she takes a gummy and confessed it sometimes makes her feel “guilty.”
Kelly Stafford has revealed a surprising parenting trick.
The 36-year-old mom of four opened up about using weed gummies during the June 16 episode of her podcast, The Morning After.
“There are times when I honestly think gummies help me parent better,” said Kelly, who is married to NFL quarterback Matthew Stafford. “They relax me; it’s like having a glass of wine.”
Podcast guest Kit Hoover agreed with Kelly’s take, saying, “I used to call it a glass of patience. It helps you make it through bedtime and bath—it just makes you a better parent.”
Kelly thanked Hoover for the support, admitting, “I do feel some guilt saying it. I don’t take them every night, but some nights I think, it’s been a rough one. I’m not trying to lose it, so I’ll just wind down with a gummy.”
Hoover encouraged Kelly not to be too hard on herself, especially on “those crappy days when the kids are being crazy or you’ve just had it.”
She added, “Don’t stress over the little things. Before you know it, they’re grown, and you’ll laugh at all the chaos from these years.”
Kelly, who has daughters Sawyer, 8, Chandler, 8, Hunter, 6, and Tyler, 4, with the Los Angeles Rams star, continued, “Matthew always reminds me, ‘If they’re in bed, they’ve eaten, they’re happy, and they feel loved—then it’s all good.’”
Kelly explained that although she sometimes feels “a little guilty” about using a gummy before parenting, even her children can tell.
“We end up laughing together, and I think they’re like, ‘Mom’s in a good mood tonight,’” Kelly shared. “And I get it—some nights I’m strict, some I’m fun. That kind of balance feels right.”
