The Detroit Lions tapped into wide receiver Jameson Williams’ full potential during what turned out to be his breakout season in 2024.
After a sluggish start to his pro career, Williams hit his stride by reaching the 1,000-yard milestone for the first time. The former Alabama star became a key asset in Detroit’s air attack, complementing two-time All-Pro Amon-Ra St. Brown to create a dangerous receiving duo.
Despite catching just 58 passes, Williams managed to eclipse the 1,000-yard mark — the fewest receptions among players who hit that total in 2024. That showcases his elite speed and ability to turn a single touch into a massive gain.
Former Lions receiver Allen Robinson recently praised this on Woodward Sports, noting how Williams’ high efficiency with fewer targets enhances the rest of the offense.
“When you’ve got a guy like Jamo who can record around 50 catches and still go over 1,000 yards, that’s incredibly valuable because it allows others to shine,” Robinson shared during a ‘Woodward Heavyweights’ interview. “There’s no need to overload Jamo with targets. He’ll make his mark. Nearly every touch he gets turns into an explosive play. When you’re part of such a dynamic offense, everyone has to get involved. That’s why the stats can vary so much.”
