Jared Goff playfully mocks Tom Brady in the latest Netflix ‘Quarterback’ trailer

Back in March, news broke that Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff would star in the upcoming season of Netflix’s docuseries “Quarterback.” This week, fans finally got a sneak peek.

On Monday morning, Netflix and NFL Films released the trailer for season 2, featuring plenty of highlights thanks to the Lions’ starting QB. Other QBs appearing this season include Bengals star Joe Burrow and Falcons veteran Kirk Cousins. Here’s a glimpse at the two-minute preview:

Going by the trailer, fans can expect a lot from the Lions’ 2025 campaign. From Goff’s bond with his wife, Christen Harper, to his commitment to Detroit and even a touchdown grab, there’s no shortage of moments from the Lions’ 15-2 run last season. Still, the standout moment comes halfway through. NFL icon Tom Brady, as part of a FOX broadcast, says, “I’d love to run this offense. It’s just so fun.”

The clip then cuts to Goff addressing the camera directly.

“Yeah, sorry Tom. You’re retired.”

This marks the second year in a row the Netflix docuseries features a Lions player. Last season, Netflix spotlighted receivers, and All-Pro Amon-Ra St. Brown was among the five showcased.

Goff’s edition of “Quarterback” premieres on Tuesday, July 8. It’s not confirmed how many episodes will drop, but the “Receiver” season included eight one-hour episodes—and all were released simultaneously.
