Lions News: Orlando Celebrate and honors ‘Kerby Joseph Weekend’ by launching a new health clinic

Detroit Lions safety Kerby Joseph is originally from Orlando, Florida, where he gained recognition as a star athlete at Jones High School. Over the weekend, he dedicated his time to giving back to the same community that helped launch his football journey.

“I think the best part is helping other people’s moms now that I have the means,” Joseph said. “Giving back to the community means a lot to me. I know friends whose moms are going through the same things. Supporting people and making sure the neighborhood is cared for is the biggest reason I started the clinic.”

“Getting the key to the city is pretty awesome,” Joseph told Spectrum News. “It’s a real blessing. I can’t stop smiling and laughing because I’m so grateful and happy.”

That Sunday, Joseph hosted a football camp for young athletes in his hometown.

“It’s about letting the kids know there’s more to Orlando,” Joseph said. “There’s so much beyond the city. Once you’ve made it, it’s vital to give back because you’re showing the next generation what’s possible.”

Take a look at some of the scenes and moments from “Kerby Joseph Weekend.”

And here are snapshots from the camp, where NFL players like Terrion Arnold, Brian Branch, and Ifeatu Melifonwu made appearances.
