If there’s one thing that stands out about Jared Goff, it’s that his profile keeps soaring. After a strong stint with the Los Angeles Rams from 2016 to 2021—during which he helped end the team’s 14-year drought without a winning record—Goff moved to the Detroit Lions, where he quickly ended their 15-game losing streak during his debut season.
That’s the football side, of course. But let’s focus on what happens beyond the field—specifically, the woman by Jared Goff’s side: Christen Harper.
Christen was born on May 28, 1993, to Michael and Daria Harper in Valencia, California. She had a lively and sports-filled upbringing. Her older brother, Shane Harper, is a professional hockey player who has competed in the American Hockey League and has even had stints in Sweden and Russia.
As for her own professional journey, Christen began acting early, appearing in the 2004 short film Seven Eleven. She returned to the screen with roles in the 2019 movies Auggie and The Obituary of Tunde Johnson.
Fittingly, the couple met in a modern way—via a dating app. In a video interview for Sports Illustrated during Miami Swim Week, Harper shared that she met Goff on Raya, a private app popular among celebrities. That was back in 2019, and they’ve been together ever since. Goff later proposed during a vacation with friends in 2022.
“I really wasn’t looking for anything serious,” Harper shared. “I had just ended a long relationship and planned to stay single for a while. But then I met him, and that was it—history in the making.”
In June 2022, Harper confirmed their engagement on social media. She posted a video on Instagram describing how Goff proposed on a beach getaway to Cabo San Lucas—and, of course, she said yes.
“6.16.22 — can’t wait for forever with you,” Harper captioned a short video of the newly engaged couple embracing by the ocean.
They officially married nearly two years later on June 22, 2024, during a glamorous celebration at the Ojai Valley Inn in southern California. After the wedding, the pair traveled to Europe, making a stop in Saint-Tropez to attend former Michigan QB Wilton Speight’s wedding before continuing on to Greece for their honeymoon.
“I’ve been soaking it all in since our wedding, but I’m so excited to finally share memories from that special day,” Harper posted, along with a white heart emoji.
Christen also actively gives back as a volunteer with Forgotten Harvest, a food rescue nonprofit supporting those in need across Southeast Michigan.
Speaking to The Detroit News last month, she said: “When my husband and I first moved to Detroit, Forgotten Harvest was one of the first places we connected with. It was the perfect way to get to know the city and what it needs.
I’ve done volunteer work in L.A., but this was totally different—their approach to food insecurity is unique. It made me want to keep coming back. They offer so many ways to help, and that variety keeps it engaging. I just couldn’t stay away.”
