Jared Goff Leaves Patrick Mahomes Off His Top 10 QBs List

Jared Goff’s top 10 quarterbacks list left out Patrick Mahomes, igniting discussion in the NFL world over greatness and comparing stars across different eras.

Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff stirred conversation this week by unveiling his all-time top 10 quarterbacks in a promo for Netflix’s Quarterback series. Missing from the list? Patrick Mahomes, often seen as an all-time great already.

Goff’s list, shared without ranking, includes the following:

Tom Brady
Peyton Manning
Joe Montana
John Elway
Drew Brees
Philip Rivers
Eli Manning
Ben Roethlisberger
Brett Favre
Aaron Rodgers

“I think Tom Brady is the greatest,” Goff stated, pointing to the seven-time champ as the gold standard for quarterbacks.

Rodgers is the only active player on Goff’s list, revealing a strong preference for retired legends. This leaves out Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, and other current MVP-level talents.

Leaving Mahomes off is sure to turn heads. With two MVPs, three Super Bowl trips, and a loaded resume before age 30, Mahomes is already in the GOAT talks among experts.

Goff’s list seems focused on longevity and career legacy rather than today’s elite performance, given Mahomes’ omission.

QB lists are always subjective, and Goff’s picks reflect his views as a former top pick who faced or admired these stars.

Still, dropping Mahomes—especially in Quarterback’s promo—is a surprising call. It shows how hard era comparisons are and how personal these rankings become.

Whether people agree or not, one thing’s for sure: the QB debate is far from over.
