Ex Detroit’s lion QB’s Wife Kelly Stafford Shares Serious Health Development Following Summer Trip Posts with her husband

While Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford gears up for the upcoming NFL season, his wife Kelly is tackling serious health challenges. In April, she opened up on her podcast, The Morning After, about a frightening diagnosis involving high cholesterol.

“I got some results back, and my cholesterol is extremely high. It gives you numbers, and it’s like above outer range and needs to seek medical attention, and I’m in that range,” she explained. Her recent bloodwork pushed her to make significant lifestyle changes. Yet amid her wellness journey, Kelly’s latest health post sparked major concern.

On her official Instagram, the mother of four shared a recent health update. The post showed her receiving medical care, with an IV drip visible in her hand. Though she’s improving, her caption hinted at discomfort. “Fine, but damn, I have felt better,” wrote Kelly, who is also a trained nurse.

Even though she disclosed how she’s feeling, she did not offer details about her medication. Many fans suspect her current treatment might be tied to her cholesterol diagnosis and ongoing monitoring.

After learning about her elevated cholesterol, Kelly overhauled her diet, especially since the condition runs in her family. “I’m going to spend like a month and kind of like get rid of all the sugar at night situation and go back and retest,” she said. “And once I do that, I’ll let you guys know if it changes. If it doesn’t change, I definitely think it’s genetic,” she continued. Her latest medical situation suggests this could be a genetic cholesterol disorder.

Still, she has yet to confirm if the recent medical episode is linked to her cholesterol. In 2019, Kelly faced a life-altering diagnosis of a benign acoustic neuroma—a brain tumor that affects balance and hearing. After a 12-hour operation, her life was saved, but her recovery has been tough.

“I have never been the same… My balance is still off. My brain has to relearn how to balance using just one side. Part of my hearing is gone on my right side,” she once shared. Her July 15 health update may be connected to these prior neurological struggles.

In spite of these hurdles, Kelly remains positive. Her recent vacation with Matthew and their daughters speaks volumes.

“I really appreciate not having to dig for NFL news every day now, even when it’s not about just my team! Thanks.”

Even when battling health setbacks, Kelly continues to spotlight her husband and kids. On Monday, she uploaded highlights from their summer trip with QB Matthew and daughters Sawyer, Chandler, Hunter, and Tyler. In a light-hearted clip, she showed snippets of their playful, adventurous family time, captioning it “Summer trip 2025.”

The video, posted July 14, showed the Stafford clan kayaking together. One scene captured Matthew Stafford bungee jumping at the beach, fully embracing the fun. Before the football grind kicks off again, the Staffords carved out a joyful break full of family bonding and great food—though Kelly kept the location secret. The footage underlined the family-first dynamic of the Super Bowl-winning quarterback.

This isn’t the first time the Staffords have shared personal family moments. Kelly frequently posts about daily life with her girls. Their 2024 Christmas Eve celebration was especially heartwarming, highlighting how close-knit they are. On December 25, she shared clips of their festive movie night, featuring cozy scenes and candid laughter.

These moments show how much Kelly values family time and always stands behind her NFL husband.
