Kelly Stafford addressed the sexual misconduct allegations involving her “The Morning After” podcast cohost, Hank Winchester.
“I know ‘TMA’ has looked a bit different these past few weeks,” Stafford, 36, said on the Friday, July 18 episode. “Summer is a lot for everyone. I’ve been traveling quite a bit. Hank’s been working through personal issues. Hang in there with us.” Winchester has only appeared in select interview episodes of the podcast since the allegations surfaced last month and has been absent from regular weekly installments.
Stafford’s husband, L.A. Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, has filled in several times during Winchester’s absence. Still, Kelly suggested Winchester might return soon. “Football season is near,” she added. “You’ll be getting plenty of us again soon, I’m sure. It’s all a—
Police searched Winchester’s Michigan home on June 13 as part of a sexual misconduct case. According to Fox 2 Detroit, a warrant was executed and devices were seized after claims he made sexual advances during a massage session.
Winchester, a longtime journalist at Detroit’s WDIV Local 4, has reportedly been studying massage therapy.
WDIV placed him on administrative leave as of June 18. He has not returned to air since. “While the case is still active, we won’t comment further,” WDIV said in a statement. In another statement to Fox 2, Winchester’s attorney Todd Flood denied the claims.
“Hank has dedicated decades to informing and protecting the community,” the statement said. “High-profile figures can sometimes attract false claims. This investigation will go nowhere—just like it started.”
Winchester and Kelly became friends while Matthew, 37, played for the Detroit Lions from 2009 to 2020. Kelly and Hank began “The Morning After” podcast in 2021. On Friday’s episode, Kelly spoke about family trips, including to Georgia and Montana. “If any of you can road trip to Montana, do it,” she said. “That place is incredible. It clears out your anxiety and puts everything that doesn’t matter into perspective.”
Matthew and Kelly have four daughters: twins Sawyer and Chandler, 8, Hunter, 6, and Tyler, 5. Kelly said, “You get there and it’s all about nature, letting your kids run free and get dirty.”
