Jared Goff expressed feelings of betrayal while revisiting his infamous 2021 trade from the Los Angeles Rams. He opened up about it again in the latest season of Netflix’s “Quarterback.”
But a former Pro Bowl linebacker harshly criticized the Detroit Lions quarterback for those remarks — bluntly calling him “soft” and adding an expletive in his criticism.
Lavar Arrington slammed Goff during a segment on Fox Sports Radio. The former three-time Pro Bowler said Goff needs to better understand how NFL business really works.
“Quarterbacks live in a different world than the rest of us,” Arrington said on Fox Sports Radio. “You were ‘blindsided’? That’s normal for NFL players.”
Arrington himself experienced a turbulent split with Washington before eventually joining division rival New York Giants — so he knows the reality.
Still, he criticized Goff for saying he felt unwanted by the Rams, who traded him for Matthew Stafford in the headline-making 2021 move.
“They didn’t want you. That’s why they traded you,” Arrington said. “If they wanted you, you’d still be there. Blindsided? That’s daily life for players.”
The former linebacker didn’t stop there. He even called Goff a “soft mother f’er” while continuing to blast him.
Goff has since found success, leading the Lions to NFC North title contention. But Arrington clearly isn’t a fan of Goff’s take on how things ended in L.A.
