Isaac TeSlaa Makes WILD Grab at Lions Training Camp
First-year wideout Isaac TeSlaa made waves at Detroit Lions camp with a stunning catch. See the clip and understand why Detroit moved up to grab him in Round 3.
Rookie wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa is starting to quiet doubters with jaw-dropping plays at training camp.
At Friday’s session, the 6-foot-4, 214-pound target stole the show with a pair of eye-popping moments that wowed both fans and staff. First, TeSlaa leapt above slot corner Avonte Maddox to snag a contested ball. Then, he left corner DiCaprio Bootle behind with a sharp inside cut, gaining separation and securing the pass with ease.
TeSlaa was viewed as a surprising choice in the 2025 NFL Draft after the Lions jumped to Pick 70, surrendering Pick 102 and two future third-round picks to land him.
GM Brad Holmes addressed the skepticism on 97.1 The Ticket after the draft but made no apologies:
“He was my favorite wideout in this class,” Holmes said. “Not necessarily the best… but my favorite.”
TeSlaa, a DII star at Hillsdale College, transferred to Arkansas and posted modest stats (897 yards, 5 scores in two years). But Detroit was drawn to his size, speed (4.43-second 40), and mindset.
Question the trade if you like, but TeSlaa is maximizing his shot in Detroit. If he keeps pulling off plays like this, it won’t take long for skeptics to come around.
