Newcastle United prepare €80 million bid for Antoine Semenyo

Newcastle United are keen on securing the services of Antoine Semenyo, and it will be intriguing to see if they succeed in completing the transfer. As reported by Spanish outlet Fichajes, the Tyne side club are ready to table an €80 million offer to finalise the move.

The Magpies require greater quality and depth in attack, particularly if Alexander Isak departs this summer. Bringing in Semenyo would represent an excellent signing. He has showcased his ability to deliver consistently in the Premier League with Bournemouth, and there is little doubt he has the talent to thrive at Newcastle United as well.

A transfer to Newcastle United will likely prove very appealing for him. The Tyne side side can provide UEFA Champions League football this season along with the chance to compete for silverware. Semenyo has already displayed his worth at Bournemouth, even netting twice during the 4-2 loss against Liverpool earlier this week.

This appears to be the right stage for him to take the next step in his career and move to a bigger side. The 25-year-old impressed greatly against Liverpool in the league opener, scoring two goals. There is no question he possesses the attributes to shine at the highest level. He could significantly strengthen Newcastle’s frontline.

The big question is whether Bournemouth will agree to let him leave. The Cherries have parted with several players already this summer, and they will not wish to further weaken their squad. At the same time, the Ghanaian forward looks to be enjoying life at the Premier League outfit, making it improbable that he will attempt to push for a transfer.

It remains uncertain how this story will progress in the coming weeks. Still, the 25-year-old recently rejected approaches from a number of top Premier League clubs to commit to a new deal with Bournemouth, and it is doubtful whether Newcastle United can persuade him should they lodge an €80 million bid.

Newcastle United must address the gaps within their team before the window closes. The Magpies require more quality to compete strongly in the Premier League and UEFA Champions League this season. Signing a versatile attacker like Semenyo would certainly be a positive move. They possess the financial means to secure him, and they should act fast to complete the transfer.
