Newcastle boss Eddie Howe confessed Ramsey is a player both he and his staff “admire” and are eager to work with throughout the upcoming campaign.
Howe stated: “Jacob is another excellent addition to our group. His attributes will give us something new on the pitch and he suits the model of being young, ambitious to improve, but also carrying plenty of Premier League experience already.
“Jacob brings flexibility and his forward drive in attack has proven to be a big danger at this level in recent years. He also shone in the Champions League last season and we feel he’ll be a hugely valuable player for us.”
Ramsey becomes the fourth signing of the summer for Newcastle, following Anthony Elanga, Aaron Ramsdale and Malick Thiaw through the doors at St. James’ Park.

Ramsey is said to have rejected proposals to renew his contract at Aston Villa before agreeing to make the switch to Newcastle.
After the transfer was announced, Villa centre-back Tyrone Mings shared a cryptic post on social media, writing: “Don’t want to hear any criticism or negativity on this name. You don’t know the half.”
Club skipper John McGinn also shared his thoughts online about Ramsey’s move away from Villa Park.
“It’s been an honour to share a dressing room with you and experience some memorable moments together on the pitch. It’s tough losing such a quality player and person, one of our own, but sadly that’s how the game works nowadays! Wishing you the best JJ.”
