Alan Shearer slams Newcastle’s handling of the Isak situation, calling it “ridiculous” and suggesting the manager should be sacked.

Ex-Newcastle United forward Alan Shearer thinks unsettled striker Alexander Isak should “sack” his agent immediately following his latest statement.

The Swedish forward has been pushing for an exit from St James’ Park all summer but was left disappointed earlier this month when the Magpies turned down a Liverpool bid, reportedly worth £110m plus add-ons.

I sak missed Newcastle’s Premier League opener against Aston Villa last weekend and is expected to be sidelined again when the Reds travel to St James’ Park on Monday night.

Earlier this week, Isak released a statement, claiming Newcastle had “broken” their agreement this summer and that “trust is lost.”

The transfer window closes on September 1, so the saga could still take more turns before the deadline, although Newcastle insist selling Isak is now off the table, despite making offers for Brentford’s Yoane Wissa.

Speaking this week, as reported by PA Media, Shearer described the situation as an “absolute mess” and placed the blame firmly on Isak’s agent Vlado Lemic.

Isak’s deal runs until 2028, and with no release clause, Newcastle remain in full control heading into the final days of the window.?
