Newcastle complete trio of late deals – Unexpected sale, Stoke chasing defender & youngsters set for loans

Newcastle United have banked £130m from Alexander Isak’s sale and are preparing to reinvest more than £50m of that sum on Brentford striker Yoane Wissa.

Will Osula may also be heading for an unexpected permanent departure, with Sky Sports reporting a £28.5m offer from Frankfurt, while Craig Hope suggests a £30m Bundesliga switch is almost done.

In addition, two more exits could be confirmed before tonight’s 7pm cut-off, with under-21 talent Trevan Sanusi and out-of-favour full-back Harrison Ashby both expected to secure loan moves.

Beginning with Ashby, sources indicate the 23-year-old defender is close to another temporary spell away before the 7pm deadline passes later this evening.

Championship side Stoke City are interested in the right-back, who impressed during pre-season, and could hand the ex-West Ham player his third loan in as many years following stints at QPR (2024/25) and Swansea (2023/24).

Turning to Sanusi, the 18-year-old wide man has stood out in Premier League 2 and will be permitted a loan today if a suitable offer comes in to aid his transition into senior football.

Only last week, French outfits Le Havre and Auxerre were linked with approaches for the England youth winger, who is also drawing deadline day attention from several EFL clubs.
