Ekitiké arrived at Liverpool from Eintracht Frankfurt in a €95m transfer this summer. The French striker, who endured a difficult spell at Paris Saint-Germain, has not faced those issues since heading to Merseyside, scoring three times in his first four appearances, including two in his opening three Premier League outings.

Salah, meanwhile, the main figure in Liverpool’s frontline in recent campaigns, has only scored once, and beyond that, has been less impactful during the early weeks of this season. The Egyptian forward has now confessed, in a chat with Men in Blazers, that he is still attempting to build an understanding with the French attacker.
