The Green Bay Packers currently share the fewest losses in the NFL. They’re also sitting atop the NFC North, and that early-season win over the Detroit Lions could prove crucial when it comes to playoff seeding later on.
Detroit head coach Dan Campbell knows it well. Since that tough Week 1 defeat, his squad has been almost flawless. Now, as the second half of the year approaches, he wants his players to send a message. Speaking to reporters, the fiery coach emphasized the importance of reaching peak form down the stretch.
Dan Campbell Declares He’s Targeting the NFC North Crown
“I mentioned to the team yesterday, I just kind of showed them how things are stacking up in the NFC,” Campbell said, via DetroitFootball.net. “It’s very tight right now, especially in this conference at this stage of the season. But I simply told them, ‘Here’s where we stand, here’s where those teams stand, and this thing’s about to shake out during November.’”
Nothing’s finalized yet, and aside from a few teams already turning toward the 2026 NFL Draft, every division remains wide open. That’s exactly why Campbell wants his players to keep their attention fixed on one goal: conquering the NFC North.
“You’re going to start seeing the teams rise and fall, and many of them will face each other,” Campbell added. “We’re in that group. So the message is simple — take care of your business. The bottom line is, find a way to win your division. We’ve got Minnesota coming in, that’s the first step, then we’ll worry about what comes next.”
Of course, that’s easier said than done. Detroit might handle the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings, but they’re already down 0-1 against Matt LaFleur’s squad, and even with a rematch win, the Packers still own the advantage.
Still, Green Bay can’t afford to relax. They have five divisional battles left on their schedule. Yet Campbell’s fiery remarks will only fuel the intensity for their Week 13 showdown.
The Packers crushed Detroit 27-13 at Lambeau Field earlier, and with Micah Parsons now thriving on defense and Jordan Love performing like an MVP candidate, it’s hard not to like their odds against anyone.
