Matthew Stafford Joins Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital as Official Brand Ambassador

Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital in Long Beach, California, has revealed a new partnership with Super Bowl-winning quarterback Matthew Stafford, who will serve as the hospital’s official brand ambassador. This collaboration aims to support the hospital’s commitment to delivering compassionate, high-quality pediatric specialty and maternity care to families in South Los Angeles County and North Orange County.

“As a father to four young daughters, I can’t imagine facing a serious illness or injury in the family that requires hospitalization,” Stafford shared. “Many families have seen firsthand the critical role children’s hospitals like Miller Children’s & Women’s play. The medical teams here are specially trained because treating children is very different from treating adults. I’m proud to support an organization that brings hope, healing, and expert care to so many families.”

Stafford’s dedication to leadership, perseverance, and community involvement makes him a fitting ambassador for the hospital. Through this role, he will help raise awareness about the essential role of children’s hospitals and the importance of philanthropic support, particularly as these institutions face challenges related to Medicaid funding and reimbursement for their most vulnerable patients—infants, children, and teens.

“We are truly grateful for Matthew’s partnership,” said Rob Gunsalus, president of the Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital Foundation. “This collaboration is about honoring our patients and families, inspiring donors, and educating the community about the importance of having a children’s hospital close to home. We’re especially excited that Matthew’s first contribution is through the My Cause, My Cleats initiative.”

As part of the NFL’s annual My Cause, My Cleats campaign, players highlight causes that are important to them by designing custom game-day footwear. Stafford’s cleats this year feature artwork created by patients at Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital, celebrating their creativity, courage, and resilience.

“Throughout my life, there have been times when I was the underdog,” Stafford reflected. “In every one of those moments, someone believed in me. Learning about Miller Children’s & Women’s made me realize that every child deserves someone in their corner. That’s what this hospital stands for—hope, care, and community. As a Los Angeles resident and father, I’m honored to help shine a light on this cause.”
