Trade speculation surrounding Las Vegas Raiders star Maxx Crosby has dominated the NFL offseason, with teams like the Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, and New England Patriots reportedly monitoring the situation. However, those hopes took a major hit on Friday after Crosby publicly addressed the rumors for the first time.

Earlier this week, FOX Sports insider Jay Glazer suggested Crosby may have played his final game with the Raiders, fueling widespread trade talk involving multiple playoff-contending franchises. The five-time Pro Bowl edge rusher quickly became one of the hottest names on the NFL trade market.

Crosby shut down much of that speculation during an appearance on FS1’s “The Herd” with Colin Cowherd, where he spoke directly about the rumors while sitting inside the Raiders’ facility and wearing team gear — a strong signal of his commitment to Las Vegas.

“Now that I’m quiet, now I got random people making big statements for me,” Crosby said. “And they’re like, ‘Oh, Maxx must’ve told him this.’ For me, I just sit back and laugh because I know my truth.”

“All the noise, it’s news to me,” Crosby added. “I try not to address certain things because no matter what someone is going to pick it apart… I’ll let people do their talking. All I’m about is my actions.”

While Crosby’s comments do not completely eliminate the possibility of a trade, they significantly reduce the likelihood of him being moved this offseason. The 28-year-old pass rusher has consistently stated his desire to remain with the Raiders for the entirety of his career, despite the team’s struggles in recent seasons.

Unless Crosby formally requests a trade, Las Vegas is expected to keep him as its defensive cornerstone. For teams like the Bears, Lions, and Patriots that were hoping to land an elite edge defender, his remarks represent discouraging news.

At this point, all signs point toward Maxx Crosby continuing his career in Las Vegas — and trade dreams around the league are fading fast.
