Newcastle United must now wait until January before making additional moves in the transfer market.
Nick Woltemade was added to the six other recruits at St James’ Park this campaign: Antonio Cordero, Aaron Ramsdale, Jacob Ramsey, Yoane Wissa, and Anthony Elanga. Meanwhile, the Alexander Isak transfer saga ended with the forward sealing a British-record £125 million switch to Liverpool.
During this week’s international window, Anthony Elanga was asked about Isak’s transfer to Liverpool. He replied: “It’s been relaxed. He was under contract with us and now he’s with Liverpool.
“But everyone here recognises he’s a top-quality player. We’ve lost someone very talented. But we’ve also brought in strong signings. Hopefully, we can keep pushing forward and concentrate on this campaign.”

Caught Offside report that Tottenham are ‘planning’ a move for Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White, who is also admired by Newcastle. Yet, interest in the England international also comes from Aston Villa and West Ham, who continue to track developments.
Earlier this summer, Spurs activated Gibbs-White’s release clause, but Forest rejected the approach. The midfielder has since committed to a new three-year contract with the Reds lasting until 2028.
