No further penalties handed out after Lions-Chiefs altercation, aside from Brian Branch suspension

Following Sunday night’s matchup between the Lions and Chiefs, tempers flared when Detroit safety Brian Branch struck Kansas City receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster as the wideout extended a post-game handshake.

What followed was a brief melee filled with pushing, shoving, and a few extra shots being thrown. Still, the NFL chose not to issue any additional discipline beyond Branch’s one-game suspension.

The league’s weekly list of fines contained no new entries related to the incident, and PFT confirmed through several sources that none were handed down.

Branch was the one who initiated the confrontation, and while a closer look at the footage shows moments that might have warranted financial penalties, the league ultimately decided against punishing any other players from either side.
