The Kansas City Chiefs are still riding the momentum from their 30-17 win over the Detroit Lions on Sunday.
The victory boosted their record to 3-2 and temporarily silenced the growing chatter that the Lions were legitimate Super Bowl contenders.
Despite the win over Detroit, the Chiefs are ranked No. 9 in ESPN’s Week 7 Power Rankings. However, ESPN’s Nate Taylor pointed out that the team’s offensive line has turned a corner.
“Much of Kansas City’s offseason centered around general manager Brett Veach and coach Andy Reid addressing the offensive line, particularly at left tackle,” Taylor explained. “The Chiefs signed Jaylon Moore in free agency and drafted rookie Josh Simmons. They also shifted Kingsley Suamataia to left guard to replace Joe Thuney, who was traded to the Bears.
“All three have stepped up, making the offensive line a strength again for quarterback Patrick Mahomes.”
Still, what players do off the field often holds just as much importance — especially when it comes to community impact.
Mahomes leads “15 and the Mahomies,” the non-profit foundation he launched in 2019 to uplift children through initiatives promoting “health, wellness, and support for underserved communities,” per the organization’s site.
They continued: “The 2026 program year is already underway — and you can join too! Pledge 15 hours of volunteer service with Youth Volunteer Corps and help make a difference, just like Patrick.”
