Rams Can Secure Playoff Spot With a Week 15 Win Against Detroit

The Los Angeles Rams have emerged as one of the league’s top contenders this season. Led by quarterback Matthew Stafford — who has firmly entered the MVP discussion — L.A. boasts a dynamic receiving pair in Puka Nacua and Davante Adams, a defense that thrives at generating pressure, and the steady leadership of head coach Sean McVay. All signs point to a team built for a deep postseason run.

Sitting at 10-3, the Rams currently hold the NFC’s No. 1 seed, but the margin is razor thin. The Seattle Seahawks share the same record, and the Green Bay Packers aren’t far behind at 9-3-1. The path to the Super Bowl will be anything but smooth, but Los Angeles can take a major step forward with a victory this Sunday.

The Week 15 matchup brings Detroit to town — a Lions team known for its explosive offense. A win over Detroit would officially punch the Rams’ ticket to the playoffs, according to NFL on X.

Even with that possibility, the division crown remains out of reach for now. Because the Seahawks are still tied with L.A., the NFC West won’t be decided until the two teams collide in Week 16 in Seattle — a game that’s shaping up to determine the division winner. But clinching a postseason berth this week would move the Rams significantly closer to their championship aspirations.

Beating Detroit won’t come easily. Running back Jahmyr Gibbs is one of the most dangerous offensive threats in football, and the Lions — sitting at 8-5 — are desperate for a win as they fight to get back into the playoff picture. However, the Rams have plenty of experience in high-stakes situations, and McVay is expected to have his team locked in when they take the field Sunday afternoon.
