Rams Receive Bad News Ahead of Week 15 Clash with Detroit Lions

The Los Angeles Rams are entering a critical stretch of the 2025 NFL season, and their upcoming matchup against the Detroit Lions in Week 15 could be impacted by injuries. Tied with the Seattle Seahawks for the best record in the NFC, the Rams are fighting to secure the top seed and a first-round playoff bye, making every game in the final weeks crucial.

Davante Adams Injury Threatens Rams Offense

Quarterback Matthew Stafford, enjoying an MVP-level season with 35 passing touchdowns and 3,353 passing yards, may face the Lions without his primary red-zone target, star wide receiver Davante Adams. The $44 million offseason acquisition has been instrumental in the Rams’ success, leading the team with 14 touchdowns—more than double any other receiver on the roster.

Rams head coach Sean McVay listed Adams as a game-time decision after he missed Wednesday and Thursday practices, though he returned for limited action on Friday. McVay remains optimistic: “Would be very surprised if he [isn’t] ready to roll. That’s what his mindset and mentality has been all week.”

Without Adams, the Rams’ chances against the Lions could be significantly affected, especially in the red zone where Adams has been Stafford’s most trusted target.

Tutu Atwell to Step In If Adams Can’t Play

The Rams have a potential replacement ready in Tutu Atwell, who will be activated from injured reserve after missing time since Week 8 due to a hamstring injury. Atwell participated fully in practices leading up to the game and is familiar with Sean McVay’s offense.

Before his injury, Atwell had totaled 164 receiving yards and one touchdown, and his return could provide a morale boost for the Rams if Adams is sidelined. “It’s really good,” McVay said regarding Atwell’s activation. “It’s a real luxury.”

As the Rams prepare to face their former quarterback Matthew Stafford, the team will be closely monitoring Adams’ status leading up to the Week 15 showdown with the Detroit Lions.
