Random Ramsdom: Did You Know L.A. Can Lock In a Playoff Berth This Weekend?

Here’s a fun fact to kick off the week: if the Los Angeles Rams come away with a victory on Sunday, they’ll officially punch their ticket to the postseason. The NFC West race is far from settled and the playoff seedings are still wide open, but the Rams have a straightforward path—beat the Detroit Lions and they’re in.

No doubt, the pressure is rising.

Even so, regardless of Sunday’s outcome, there’s still plenty of football left to be played. The picture will sharpen in the coming weeks, but predicting who ultimately hoists the Lombardi Trophy in 2025 remains a toss-up.

For some fans, this is the most exciting stretch of the year.

According to the league, the Rams are one of three teams—along with the Patriots and Broncos—that can lock in a playoff spot this week.
For L.A., it’s about as straightforward as it gets: win and you’re in. They’re the only NFC team with a chance to clinch this early, although the division title is still contested by the Rams, Seahawks, and 49ers.

Both teams enter the matchup with a bit of momentum. Detroit is looking to build off its Thursday win over the Cowboys, while the Rams come in hot after a dominant 45–17 blowout of the Cardinals.

NBC Sports has full coverage of the matchup, offering viewing info, DraftKings betting lines, player updates from Rotoworld, plus predictions and expert picks from their analysts.

And of course, there’s Matthew Stafford’s perspective on how Detroit has transformed since their blockbuster trade.

“I’m obviously thrilled to be where I am, and I think the Lions have really maximized the draft picks and players they got back,” said Stafford, who spent his first 12 seasons in Detroit. “Their franchise is in as strong a spot as it’s been in years.”
