Terrion Arnold: Staying upbeat, aiming to return as soon as possible

Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold admitted he “wanted to cry” when he first learned of the diagnosis for his shoulder injury, but things began to look brighter after he sought additional medical opinions.

Following reports earlier this week suggesting Arnold could be sidelined for the remainder of the regular season, more encouraging updates emerged, indicating he’ll miss some time but is expected to return before the season concludes. Speaking Wednesday, Arnold emphasized his determination to make that comeback happen as quickly as possible.

“Right now, I’m just focused on staying as positive as I can,” Arnold said, via Benjamin Raven of MLive.com. “After getting multiple opinions and hearing different perspectives, my second opinion went extremely well. Like I said, it’s about keeping a positive mindset. . . . I’m not sure exactly how many weeks it’ll be. My body heals quickly. I just want to get back out there with my teammates as soon as I can.”

With Arnold sidelined indefinitely and both D.J. Reed and Khalil Dorsey on injured reserve, Detroit’s cornerback depth will be tested in the coming weeks. The defense may experience some rough stretches, but the hope of getting healthy in time for the late-season push should keep the outlook optimistic for the Lions.
