Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold revealed why he had nearly $100,000 in cash inside a Florida rental property that was later burglarized, according to police interviews and incident reports.
Authorities say the alleged robbery occurred at a four-story townhouse in Largo, Florida during the NFL offseason. The stolen property reportedly totaled more than $250,000 in value.
According to a report from the Detroit Free Press, Arnold told investigators several luxury items were taken from the property. The list included two Rolex watches—one “Plane Jane” with a blue face valued at $14,000 and another with a green face worth $10,000—along with four Louis Vuitton bags worth $27,000.
Additional items reported stolen included four pairs of Louis Vuitton shoes, a pair of Bottega shoes valued at $1,000 each, two Goyard bags worth $11,000, two Sony digital cameras, a spare iPhone, and an $80,000 Cuban link diamond chain necklace featuring a “TA” pendant. Arnold also reported that approximately $100,000 in cash was taken.
During the investigation, an officer asked Arnold whether the large amount of cash was intended for a visit to the nearby Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa.
“Oh my God, you know I was,” Arnold responded in the police report. “You answered the question by yourself. It’s the offseason, man. Blackjack. Blackjack and roulette.”
Arnold, a former standout for the Alabama Crimson Tide before entering the NFL, has been recovering from shoulder surgery after multiple injuries disrupted his 2025 season.
The Lions defensive back has been sharing workout updates on social media and says he is progressing toward a full recovery ahead of the upcoming season.
Arnold has not been charged in connection with a separate retaliation incident involving individuals who allegedly attempted to confront those suspected of stealing the items. Authorities continue to pursue a case against six defendants tied to the burglary.
Speaking recently to the Detroit Free Press at a charity event, Arnold declined to discuss details of the ongoing case.
“I feel like the situation’s being handled,” Arnold said. “My mindset is being the best player I can be for my team. I’ve had surgery now, I’m on pace to make a full recovery, and I’m focused on getting ready for a big year.”
