Looking at the 2024 schedule, when you factor in fewer home games, tougher inter-divisional matchups for the NFC East, increased travel across multiple time zones, a seemingly more difficult set of three unique opponents, and the potential for an international game, it’s clear that the Commanders will have a tougher road ahead in 2025 compared to 2024.
There is also a strong chance that, due to the team’s success in 2024 and Jayden Daniels’ growing popularity among NFL fans, Washington could find itself playing several prime-time and late-window games, especially with matchups against the AFC West. While this doesn’t necessarily indicate a more difficult schedule, it will likely test the team’s ability to maintain a consistent weekly approach, which has been a key priority for Dan Quinn.
As the Commanders head into 2025, they will face significantly higher expectations than in 2024, and the added challenge of a more demanding schedule will only make achieving those ambitious goals more difficult.
