Controversy erupts as Jared Goff’s touchdown is overturned, leaving Lions stunned against Chiefs

The Detroit Lions dug deep into their playboo early against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football and appeared to pull off an improbable touchdown, but an official’s ruling soon left the visitors shocked at Arrowhead Stadium.

Jared Goff and the Lions were rolling in the first quarter inside GEHA Field, pushing deep into Chiefs territory. Kansas City, missing a key offensive weapon, didn’t anticipate what was about to unfold after a third-down stop.

On 4th-and-goal at the one-yard line, the Lions decided to take a gamble. In a surprise twist, Goff went in motion toward the left as running back David Montgomery handled the direct snap. Later, the Lions player at the center of the scuffle said the Chiefs were “trying to bully me.”
