Ben Johnson Delivers an Inspirational Postgame Speech Following Bears’ Overtime Victory
Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson is quickly becoming known for his intense and inspiring postgame speeches. This season, he’s consistently delivered electrifying talks after victories—once even taking it a step further by removing his shirt—but Saturday night’s message was powerful in its own way.
After an improbable Week 16 overtime win against the Green Bay Packers, Johnson’s postgame address did not disappoint. While there was no shirt removal this time, his energy and enthusiasm were unmistakable.
The game itself was far from easy.
The Bears entered the fourth quarter down 13-3, with the offense struggling throughout most of the night. But the team rallied in the final period, tightening up on defense and making enough offensive plays to close the gap to a single score with just two minutes left.
Chicago then faced the daunting task of executing an onside kick, a play that has become increasingly difficult under recent rule changes. Against the odds, the Bears recovered it and pushed down the field to tie the game, forcing overtime.
In extra time, a turnover by the Packers set the stage for quarterback Caleb Williams to connect with wide receiver DJ Moore on a deep touchdown pass, securing the win.
This victory keeps the Bears atop the NFC North with an 11-4 record and the No. 2 seed in the conference. The Packers, meanwhile, remain in second place in the division and sit at the No. 7 seed in the wild-card race heading into Week 17.
