As the Detroit Lions push toward a potential playoff berth, quarterback Jared Goff continues to anchor one of the league’s more productive offenses, even as the team works through late-season defensive challenges.
Off the field, Goff’s wife, Christen Harper Goff, is embracing a quieter holiday season centered on family.
The couple is spending Christmas in Michigan with their 5-month-old daughter, Romy, marking the baby’s first holiday. Christen shared that remaining in Michigan during the season makes the celebration feel especially meaningful, noting that while she enjoys warm-weather vacations, there’s something special about winter scenery, a glowing Christmas tree, and a crackling fireplace.
The Lions (8–7) are set to face the Minnesota Vikings on Christmas Day in Minneapolis, with kickoff scheduled for 4:30 p.m. ET at U.S. Bank Stadium. Detroit remains in the playoff hunt despite not matching the success of the previous two seasons, when the team posted a combined 27–7 record.
Individually, Goff has put together an impressive year, throwing for more than 4,000 yards with 32 touchdowns and just five interceptions. He has often credited the stability and encouragement from his family for helping him manage the demands of professional football alongside the transition into fatherhood.
Back home, Christen has been focused on creating comfortable spaces for Romy in both Michigan and Los Angeles. The Michigan nursery features soft pink tones, while the L.A. version leans toward a bohemian style filled with vintage touches.
She’s also joked about how laundry has multiplied since becoming parents, teasing that Jared generates the biggest pile. Romy has already joined in team spirit, appearing on social media in a miniature Lions jersey labeled “Daddy.”
Jared and Christen met in 2019 through a dating app, became engaged in mid-2022, and were married in June 2024 in Ojai, California.
Christen, who works as a model and actress, has been a Sports Illustrated Swim Search finalist, signed with CAA, and appeared in Netflix’s “Quarterback” docuseries.
For Christmas, her focus is intentionally simple: staying warm, following the baby’s routine, and enjoying time with family close by. It’s a grounded, family-oriented approach—one that reflects the support system Goff has said is essential as they navigate life in the NFL with a newborn at home.
